Prominent Utah Business Leaders Endorse Spencer Cox for Governor
SALT LAKE CITY (June 4, 2020) –– Today, 50 of Utah’s most prominent job creators and business leaders endorse Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox to be Utah’s next governor.
“Over the past decade, Spencer has helped lead Utah through one of the most successful periods in our history. He knows what it will take to rebuild our economy in the aftermath of this crisis – and has the ability to unite Utahns from every corner of this state. Spencer loves Utah. He is committed to Utah. I trust him to lead our state and I’m delighted to vote for him as our next Governor,” said Gail Miller, Owner and Chair of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.
In an open letter to voters, the business leaders join Gov. Gary Herbert and thousands of everyday Utahns who agree that Lt. Gov. Spencer is the right candidate to lead Utah’s recovery.
“Lt. Gov. Cox values the central role Utah’s private industry plays in building our strong economy, thriving communities and healthy families,” the group wrote in an endorsement letter. “We pledge our support to the Lt. Governor as he leads us back on to the path of prosperity and into a bright future.”
Last week, Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox released the Utah 2020 Vision for Economic Strength which outlined the five governing principles that would lead his economic response if elected governor. Coupled with the Utah Leads Together Plan, the governing principles will further Utah’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and durable self-reliance during uncertain economic times.

He is the right leader for Utah.”

After receiving the endorsements, Lt. Gov. Cox stated, “Senator Henderson and I are grateful for the support from Utah’s business leaders. As Governor, I will work closely with the business community to ensure Utah emerges from this crisis more resilient, prosperous, and stronger than ever before. Utah’s strength lies with its people, and it will take all of us working together to once again make Utah’s economy the strongest in the nation.”
